There are heroes among us, putting our health and our safety before their own. They don’t wear capes. They don’t carry shields. But to the sick, they have superhuman powers. Empathy. Compassion. And the skills and ability to deliver excellent care.
But like most superheroes, they share a lot of the same traits we share. They feel fear. They get tired. They worry about the things they can’t control. And this doesn’t just apply to the medical and nursing staff, but to those in maintenance, environmental services, and other support staff who are working just as hard in this battle.
The world is in the midst of a healthcare crisis that most of us could never have imagined and the impact of which will be felt long after the crisis has passed. But in that crisis there is opportunity, because we are all in this together.
Today we’re asking you to stand up for healthcare. Stand up and show your support for the men and women on the front lines of this health crisis and the families that they leave behind to deliver care.
