Celebrating Safely in 2021

1-12-2021

Your hospital foundation is inviting you to Share the Joy and connect with the spirit of the season safely, as we move our flagship Gala fundraiser to a Gift of Giving Campaign! We made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person events this year, as the health and safety of our guests and volunteers is our top priority but, we are hoping that a charitable spirit remains in our community!

As we prepare to enjoy the festivities in our own homes, while at a safe distance, it is important that we take the opportunity to laugh and play, and bring joy back into the holidays. What better way to stay connected than through generosity! Giving has been proven to decrease blood pressure and reduce stress, promoting longer life and better health. Studies show that when you give to others, that kindness is paid forward to someone else, and eventually returned to you.

As a long-time Gala supporter, we hope you might consider maintaining your support this year with a gift to help fund a new Infant Resuscitation Center for the Women & Children’s Health department!

CEHHC’s Women & Children’s Health team has delivered over 500 babies this year, and identified the need for two (2) Infant Resuscitation Centers at a cost of $51,275. A Resuscitation Centre is the ideal device to have during labor and delivery procedures. It combines an effective warming therapy platform, along with the components you need for clinical emergency and resuscitation called AutoBreath. This is the new standard for neonatal resuscitation.

Here’s the best part! For a limited time, your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, by the Municipal Group of Companies, up to $25,000! You can double your impact, meaning both Infant Resuscitation Centers will be under the Women & Children’s Health Department’s holiday tree! There’s never been a better time to give! (See the back page for more details.)

Or, perhaps you would prefer to donate to the Greatest Needs fund!

A donation to our Greatest Needs fund allows the Foundation to respond to the most critical needs of the hospital. An example of the impact of the Greatest Needs fund is when the pandemic hit in early 2020, the Foundation was asked fund COVID-19 equipment that totalled over $190,000. Thankfully, because of the flexibility the Greatest Needs fund provides, we were able to respond immediately and purchase the necessary equipment.

If you have any questions, I would be happy to provide you with more information on how you can support the hospital, and the 30,000 families who rely on the care of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Your support will truly impact the lives of others. With your generosity, you will join a powerful community of donors whose gifts ensure that the teams at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre have the equipment, training, and tools they need to do their jobs. From all of us, thank you.

Sincerely,
